Chronology of cameras Agfa Ansco

Agfa and Ansco joined forces in the American market between 1928 and 1943. Agfa-Ansco, a subsidiary of I.G. Farbenindustrie in the United States infiltrated by Nazi spies (as reported on the evening of August 5, 1951), was absorbed as enemy property, and Ansco continued its activities independently.

During this period, some models were marketed under the Agfa Ansco or Ansco brand. This partnership is the reason why one can find Agfa cameras labeled "Made in USA."

The Box No. 2 series comprises basic models, largely made of cardboard, with most of them featuring metal front and back faces. The metal parts are painted in a color identical to that of the cardboard sections.
The metal face is plain, without any decoration. Depending on the model, it may or may not have the brand name embossed at the bottom right.
They are a continuation of a series of models that already existed under the Ansco brand.

The model E has only one tiny viewfinder that is not centered.
